Shortly after I was scooped up on the head and horns of a grumpy cow and tossed about 20 feet up the road when I was 60 years old, it occurred to me that if I had not come to Africa to share the light of Jesus with all my new friends I met there, I would still be 60 years old. Either way - sit in my rocking chair reading a book and drinking tea or living for Jesus in the world He created - I would still be 60 years old. It comes down to "Jesus, where are You taking me? I want to be where You are!

Great writing. I kept waiting for the bike accident, but it didn't happen. You are so right about those unexpected events that can derail our plans. You are also right about Who we have by faith to direct our paths.

Sometimes the tragedies we could almost anticipate, like the motor scooter accident, don't happen, but the ones we never expected seem to come out of nowhere. So we are left to PRACTICE our faith on a daily basis.

Thanks, Keri. My finger is healing, but slowly. Our nomadic life is not always what we expect it to be--which is par for the course, I suppose.
