I guess I never did specify why I disliked her so much. I wasn't given Barbies as a child, so I am sure that played an initial role--my parents justifying why I shouldn't play with them. As I grew, though, I was frustrated with the image of physical perfection Barbie portrayed. And sure, just like Barbie, you can be whoever you want in life--as long as you never look less than the American cultural standardized ideal of beauty. I was snarky from way back, Cindy.
