Coffee jitters at sunrise, ripping up fairytales, an Irish rock band covering a Psalm of David, simultaneous faith and doubt, and the things Google doesn't believe exist--but we know better
At least this time you've had experience. You may be tired and disheartened, but you know from your own experience that hanging on one more day is possible and realistic. I'm thankful for that. And I hope you are too.
Sherry, I really enjoy your writing! This piece really struck me. Wow, so authentic and on point! I finished reading the last chapter of Revelation literally a minute before I read this. I've lived (and continue to live) many shorter-term experiences of "anticipation fatigue." It's real. Somewhat longer-term (though still just a dash), our whole lives on earth are lived in anticipation of something much bigger and better than what we see or imagine, something that is not hollow or tenuous. He is coming soon! And in the meantime, may "the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people." Thank you for sharing your writing!
Thanks, Allison! I am glad it resonated with you. And yes, our whole existence is lived in anticipation. It's for real. How timely that it goes with your reading today.

Yes, we are grateful and past experience with God's faithfulness definitely helps.
I know about anticipation and exhaustion. I'm glad you have someone to share your hoped-for journey and give you hope.
Hugs to you, friend. 💜
