Wow! What an unexpected callout! Thanks, Sherry. I faithfully read your writings because I so enjoy your creations! I clearly remember most of your blasts from the past, like the tribute to the number 12 in this episode. So fun! I don't know how you come up with these things. Hopefully you will stop by our house in your travels and we can get to know each other a little more.

I agree that celebrating the little things is important. One thing we like to celebrate is "down days," or days when we don't have much we have to accomplish. Tim will often bake a cake. :)

Allison, we will absolutely make a stop at your place at some point! And I look forward to some time to hang out with you a bit. I love the down day celebrations--especially with cake! Way to go, Tim!

Love this. I always celebrate pi day with pie! Doesn't everyone?

Everyone should, that's for sure! The high school where my husband and I used to teach had an annual pi day celebration after school, with pie, of course. It was always hosted by the math club. An excellent addition to the school culture.

Sherry, special occasions...not as much fun as yours! But when I moved to Hamilton, I LOVED the small, uneventful little town. There were no big box stores, nor fast food restaurants (OK, A&W and Dairy Queen). On Tuesdays, around 11:30 am, the train would chug-chug-chug through town, heading south from the big city of Missoula. I would pack a lunch and pile the three little ones into the car and drive to a different vantage point each week, where we could see the train...all 6 (or SEVEN) cars. Eating our bologna sandwiches and learning to count to six (or SEVEN)....

Ok, the bologna sandwiches I could do without (too many in my school lunchbox as a child and I am still a little traumatized, haha) but I would have been all over joining you with my kids for those train counting sessions. That is the kind of inexpensive, low-maintenance fun we loved to create. Good memories. Good for you.
