Yay, you’re on the road, finally. You’re making me remember little encounters with others when I’ve been away from home. Yes, I can see how those would be memorable and accumulate.
Today's post made me think of the first part of Proverbs 18:24 "A man who has friends must himself be friendly" Seems you're making quick friends along your journey. Thank you for sharing your adventures with your readers.
I think you did, indeed. And as a writer who tries to convince herself that she writes for her own personal sense of satisfaction and growth and doesn't need feedback and affirmation from others--thank you. A little affirmation goes a long way. No need for you to be a stranger here. You are just one of my newest friends. 💜
Glad you are here! And I see you play and teach cello! Ah, that is one of my regrets in life, that I never learned to play the cello. It is my all-time favorite instrument, never failing to stir my soul. But alas, living in our truck is not conducive to owning a cello. 😂 I bought myself a harmonica.
Harmonica is a great instrument! My husband plays harmonica and he loves that he can keep one in his pocket and pull it out whenever he feels like it. With cello, because it’s made mostly of wood you really have to keep it in as constant a temperature and humidity environment as possible. Your life sounds really fascinating and I’m sure you continually have interesting things to write about especially your encounters with real humans. I’ve only been on Substack for a couple of months and I’m worried that it is turning into something like Facebook for me (which I have recently dropped) Flash except that now I communicate with people who I’ve never even met in the flesh. I could just use it to read lots of interesting well written articles and not comment but that seems ungrateful. A writer needs affirmation, just like a performer, graciously accepts applause as an acknowledgment that their gift of music has been received well. I think I just answered my concern!

It's those 'little encounters' that set the tone for me. Sounds like they are powerful for you, too. 💜
“I do believe my definition of friend has been woefully limited over the years.” Me too my friend. 🧡
Time to expand, right? 💜

Great proverb. Thanks for following along, Karen. I strive to use our travels to add value to other people's lives, too. 💜
